Stitch. Read. Covet. Blog.

Knit: I fell in love with Alana's descriptions of Botanical Knits as I caught up on the Never Not Knitting pod casts after my surgery. The newly released design book did not disappointed. I brought a copy of the pdf this morning and have already added Entangled Vines to my knitting queue.

Read: I've seen Pia Jane Bijkerk's lovely styling and words in frankie and Country Style magazines, as well as on the Home Life blog. But it was only by following an Instagram hash tag that I discovered Pia's blog and her Pozible campaign. If you are a sentimental Mama, as I know I am, this may be the perfect Mother's Day gift for you too. There are five days to left to help Pia self publish her fourth book.

Covet: Have you seen this dress? The Author Outing Dress. I have a case of the wanties with this dress, though my sister was less impressed. I like to imagine myself on a date with my dear husband in this dress. Perhaps we would go to the movies. (I don't think I have been to the movies since before Cohen was born - and he is four.)

Blog: Michelle has been blogging at hugo & elsa for almost seven years. It's a favourite of mine, and one that I click over to each time I see a new post in my reader. It's such a wealth of inspiration. From honest cooking, to the charms of country life. From renovations to camping, vintage to veggies, Michelle has a beautiful eye for design and colour, and a flair with food. hugo & elsa is sporting a new simple and elegant blog layout and I think you will enjoy sitting down with a cuppa and having a wander through Michelle's gorgeous posts.

(Tying these Loving links together today, Pia mentioned hugo & elsa as a blog that inspires her in an article in Country Style and Michelle has blogged about and is supporting Pia's book project. I love how the blog community works like that.)

  4. Great list! I was so disappointed to only discover Pia's Pozible this week, when I don't have any money :( I would so love her book! Ok Here is my list:

Knit: I just started knitting a 22.5 Degrees shawl, in some Bendigo that I've had sitting around for way too long. Something for me is just what I need.

Read: I'm trying to finish the Little House series, but my box set of Anne of Green Gables is calling my name.

Covet: A pair of Doc Martens. I missed out when they were cool in high school, but I've promised myself a pair of black boots for this Winter.

Blog: I honestly love the blog Our Ash Grove. I love her homey lived in house, all the children in handknits, exploring, creating etc! http://ourashgrove.blogspot.com.au/

Enjoy the rest of your weekend!

  6. Those Botanical knits are just gorgeous. Especially that twigs mustard cardi. I can see myself making that one. I too signed up for Pia's new book. I really enjoyed the escapism of My Heart Wanders. Very dreamy. Love the dress too. Though my thought is always these days is if I can find a pattern to make something similar. Of course my wishlist for sewing is so much bigger than time allows!
I've been reading a lot on food lately - Primal Body Primal Mind is almost finished and there is a lot to take in. As well as the latest Country Style.
I always enjoy the Longest Acres blog. Makes me want to go and buy a farm every time!
Hope your weekend was a good one Christina x

  7. I'm loving your list, I too am a Hugo and Elsa fan and I must go and check out Alana's new book, that photo is gorgeous. I love that dress too, I've just finished sewing one for myself, mustard with little blue flowers, I love love love it.
    Here's my list:
Knit: I am so close to finishing my tea leaves so I'm looking for a nice lacy scarf pattern for my best friend's birthday present. I'm also going to decide on a shawl pattern to knit for me, I found some gorgeous possum merino yarn the other day that would be perfect. Blame Lark Rise to Candleford - this BBC series is full of gorgeous knitting.
Read: I'm really enjoying Alexander McCall-Smith's No 1 Detective Agency series, I'm waiting for book three to arrive at the library
Covet: Series 2 of Lark Rise to Candleford, I got series one out of the library but it was scratched in all the important bits grrr so I want to buy my own brand new one, just so as not to miss anything. I haven't watched TV for over 2 months but this series has me glued to the couch - lucky I can knit at the same time.
Blog: I love reading Rhonda's blog at Down to Earth, so full of advice, inspiration, encouragement and validation.
